Burner, the Disposable Phone Number App, Updates with Plugins and Premium Numbers

iOS: Previously mentioned Burner, the app that lets you generate disposable numbers for dating sites, selling stuff online, or anything else you’d need private calls or texts for, just unveiled a new version with some third-party plugins and premium offerings that are worth a look.

The new version of the app (which is sadly iOS only, although updates to the Android app are on the way) offers new “Premium Burners” that you can hang on to as long as you need to and use for specific purposes. The premium burners offer unlimited texts, calls, and more—all routed through the Burner app, so you can filter and manage them the way you want.

Similarly, the update also allows you to connect specific Burner numbers to other apps, like Slack, Soundcloud, Dropbox, and Evernote. Here’s how it works: You can set Burner to record texts, picture messages, or voice messages left by callers and automatically save them to Dropbox or Soundcloud. You can set up an Evernote notebook, and if someone texts your burner number, they can use it like an SMS bot, sending commands to retrieve information—like a houseguest texting your number to get the Wi-Fi password or the passkey to your security door when they arrive.
